A truly happy life

Philippians 3:7-11
These verse right here, were quite a rude awaking for me. I believe these are some of the most important verses in the Good Book and are very relevant to all of us, especially within this day and age. What I understand as the message here, is that we can be successful professionally as lawyers, accountants, sports personalities, actors, musicians etc,  We can make a lot of money and win a lot of awards and accolades but the underlying truth, which honestly smacked me crash right in the face and almost took some teeth out, is that no amount of wealth or success can be as spiritually fulfilling, soulfully rewarding and bring an everlasting happiness than that is brought about by knowing Jesus Christ and having an honest relationship with him and living to do his work and lead a life  according to his Almighty Father’s word.
Not having this sort of relationship with Christ is the reason why most rich and famous people and many ordinary professional and successful people like moi, find themselves indulging in things like acts of reckless wild  sex, drug abuse, heavy drinking i.e. “PARTYING LIKE ROCKSTARS”, hoping and thinking this will bring us happiness and a sense of belonging but after all the partying is over and especially after all the weekends of guzzling booze I realised  that, that deep empty hole that pains so much in my heart  and soul can never be filled by no amount of booze or anything physic al or materialistic for that matter,  but only the saving grace and love of Jesus Christ.
Amen
